It’s almost 2 Years Since Free Fire Ban in India

Game bans are now common in our country, India, especially if a game is linked to China or there is a data security issue. Upon reviewing the ban reasons, we found that Free Fire was banned along with 53 other Chinese apps. Despite Garena being a Singaporean company and Free Fire being a Singaporean game, it may be somehow related to China. That’s why the ban was applied to Free Fire, even though it is operated by Garena.

Do you remember when the game was banned? I mean, we almost forgot when we last saw Free Fire in the Play Store or App Store. The game was banned on February 14, 2022. In 2024, as February began, I recalled how many players, YouTubers, and esports players were sad after hearing that ban news.

It has been two years since the Free Fire ban. Still, there is no official news on whether Garena will launch the Free Fire India version or not. Last year in September, the Free Fire community received some interesting news, but that interest lasted only for four days until Free Fire officially announced that they needed a few more weeks to set the game’s release date. Currently, those few more weeks have turned into months, and there’s no hint or announcement regarding Free Fire India.
